2023-2024 SHRM Certification Scholarship

Heart of Illinois SHRM (HOI SHRM) is pleased offer two (2) scholarships for members seeking their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification. Each scholarship awards $250 to support the continued development of HR leaders pursuing a professional SHRM certification.

Application Deadline

• $250 Scholarship #1 – Spring Testing Window – Deadline is February 26

• $250 Scholarship #2 – Winter Testing Window – Deadline is September 30

Eligibility

• Current HOI SHRM member in good standing

• Meet eligibility requirements for SHRM Certification

• Be ineligible for reimbursement from employer or educational institution

• You must test in the 2022 Spring or 2022-2023 Winter Testing Window

• Sharing your certification experience on HOI SHRM social media outlets and/or at a future meeting

• Submit by the appropriate deadline above

• Tell us why you should be selected for this scholarship. Include a summary of your academic/training, volunteer and career experience and your need for the scholarship. 

Selection Criteria

• 50% work experience/progression (HR involvement and future career plans); current students without significant work experience will be reviewed based on academic background and breadth and quality of HR coursework

• 50% volunteer activity (HIHRC/SHRM experience preferred, but not required)

Applications are reviewed and scored by the HOI SHRM Board. All decisions are final.

Scholarship Distribution

If you are selected to receive a scholarship, you will be contacted by the HOI SHRM board to coordinate distribution of funds to the SHRM Certification team.
